PS3 or Play Station 3 is a device not only limited to games but it also plays music and videos. Unlike its predecessor (PS1 and PS2) PS3 was made sure to be online capable right out of the box. Since it is capable online then it needs more space, and by doing so it need another hard-drive, a hard-drive that is what we called a ps3 format hard-drive.

PS2 is only capable to run hard-drives that are ps3 format or that are formatted by fat32 system. Any hard-drive that is not formatted with fat32 is not compatible with ps3.

Create a directory with a name of video and music to the newly formatted hard-drive, copy inside them whatever files, certainly music files will go to the music directory and video will go to the video directory. The hard-drive now is ready to disconnect to the personal computer and ready to plugin to a ps3.
